about

These are pieces written by me, John Mark Sherlock, for the composers' collective/ensemble I co-founded with eldritch Priest in the early 2000s. Some were for the three day "festivettes" (3 night festivals) and others for solo shows in the years after. The works all were for open instrumentation and thusly I am not entirely certain who was playing what on the larger ensemble pieces. I will endeavour to uncover that information. I was playing an A100 Hammond organ and "cloud chamber" bowl on salvage/wrecking. I believe I was playing Rhodes 88 on final approach (to lessness). I want to thank all of my neither/nor comrades here because those were truly wonderful times.

about

John Mark Sherlock Toronto, Ontario

John Mark Sherlock studied composition at the University of Western Ontario with Jack Behrens, Arsenio
Girón and David Myska.
Sherlock’s work is remarkable for it’s use of electric keyboards and organ dating form the ’60s
and ’70s. He is likely unique in his extensive use of Rhodes and Wurlitzer electric pianos, Hohner
Clavinet/Pianet and Hammond organ in ensemble and via his abstract aesthetic.
